Here we are ...it is March 3 and we are still getting hit with this horrible cold and wind.  Almost all charter captains in the Keys will be able to tell you that they have cancelled more charters this year than any previous year.  At this point all you can do is shake your head, bundle up in some warm clothes and head out to find a spot as protected as possible.  I managed to get a few days in over the past week and they were all verrrry rough.  With the wind from the south the Gulf would be calmer than the Atlantic and my customers were game so we headed out.  Rockpiles and wrecks produced plenty of very large Lane Snappers along with decent Mangrove Snapper and a few just keeper Muttons.  The worst part has been the quantity of keeper Gag Grouper we through back over 3 charters.  another 60 days before a fresh one will be harvested for the table.
