Fantasy Fest 2010 officially started Friday, October 22nd with the Coronation of this year’s King & Queen of Fantasy Fest at the Southernmost Beach Cafe. Five candidates worked very hard to raise $207,000 for AIDS Help during the 8 weeks prior to Coronation. Their events and their personalities brought much more than that - creativity, fun, and devotion to the cause. Crowned King was Christopher Elwell, Queen Anne O’Shea, Duchess Surrey Westrupp, Duchess Elaine Chinnis and Duke Stephan “Sunshine” Sunday. They all deserve our respect and a great deal of thanks.

Also kicking off that Friday evening was Goombay Festival in Bahama Village. It is an event filled with aromas from various ethic foods; tables full of art, crafts and, jewelry; terrific music and load of merriment. The week is is wild with all sorts of fund, wacky, risque events. Be sure to check out the calendar on our home page to see what’s up.

There are so many events - all with their own themes - what will you come as? There are specialty shops about our island that offer incredible costumes, masks headdresses and body painting.
