Holiday Celebration Keys Style
Wow, have you see all the lights in Bahama Village? I think they are really working hard top the newtowners this year, especially those in the Staples/Seidenberg neighborhood. If you get a chance, take a look. Speaking of holiday lights, many non-profits organize a holiday party with a trolley tour at night throughout the island so enjoy all the decorations. I know MCC is hosting an event tomorrow night starting with a send-off party from 5-7pm at the home of host, Robbin Hedlund (1322 Thompson Street), 5-7pm open bar and appetizers, 7pm board the trolley. On Sunday December 20th, Bobby’s Monkey Bar is hosting a party to benefit Sister Season Fund. It starts at 6pm with a buffet and 1 free drink before boarding the trolley at 7pm. And, upon return, Santa will be there for photo ops!
There are so many events – My friends are inviting the public to a Grand Re-Opening of the Villas of Key West on Saturday December 11, 5:30 to 8:00 pm. I hear that the Elves have been working with Santa to make this grand re-opening of the Inn a special night. Pals Bert Whitt & Dennis Beaver are hosting a Yuletide Feast for the Key West Pops at their fabulous home with a 20-courItlaian dinner, open bar and live entertainment. The Holiday Cayo Carnival also kicks off on the 11th. For details about the events go to www.Holidaycayocarnival.coml.
The Inn Keepers show off their holiday spirit by have a lighted tour this Friday & Saturday. Saturday night features one of my person favorites—the Lighted Boat Parade which leaves from Schooner Wharf and proceeds down past Mallory Dock
If you are feeling a bit stressed by the holiday season you may wish to “Arm” yourself with the “How To” lessons of a sassy and clever holiday musical. A Christmas Survival Guide is appearing at the Red Barn Theatre through January 2nd.
Please be sure to check out the calendar of events for details. You don’t want to miss the many great happenings this holiday season.
